We were approached by a blockchain team to create a consistent animated character, Crypto Boy, with green hair, for their platform Abstract. The goal was to design a character that visually embodied the ethos of Abstract while being instantly recognizable across different media formats. This character needed to feel native to the crypto space, appealing to both existing blockchain enthusiasts and new audiences.

Challenges & Approach

The biggest challenge was to ensure Crypto Boy’s design remained consistent across animations, still graphics, and on-chain assets while also reflecting Abstract’s forward-thinking identity. Our team developed a visual style guide and animation framework that could flex across various contexts without losing its core personality. By blending creative storytelling with strategic brand alignment, we positioned Crypto Boy as both a mascot and a narrative driver within the Abstract ecosystem.

The result

The project demonstrated our team’s ability to merge character design, animation, and brand strategy into one cohesive package. Crypto Boy quickly became a recognizable figure tied to Abstract, strengthening its brand presence and generating excitement in the crypto community. The character’s consistent look and feel laid the groundwork for future storytelling opportunities, on-chain collectibles, and community-driven engagement.
